Carrots in Sandy Soils

Sandy soils are ideal for carrot cultivation as they allow straight root growth. El Meir Company provides carrot varieties specifically designed for sandy soils.

Soil Preparation

  • Deep plowing to loosen the soil
  • Adding decomposed organic matter
  • Leveling the soil surface thoroughly
  • Creating raised beds 1.2 meters wide

Fertilization Program

Use El Meir's potassium fertilizers to improve root quality and increase sugar content. Avoid excessive nitrogen which causes root branching.

Irrigation

Regular and frequent irrigation with small amounts to maintain moderate moisture, avoiding drought which causes root cracking.
